It is the first of its kind in India to provide recreation and therapy services for special needs people.
Hyderabad has National Park for People with Special Needs at Louis Braille Flyover Old Malakpet, Hyderabad with the implementing agency, Ayesha Educational Society in partnership with GHMC. It is the first of its kind in India to provide recreation and therapy services for special needs people under one roof. It started providing services after its grand inauguration by Mr. K. T. Rama Rao, Hon. Minister for IT & MAUD.
National Park for People with Special Needs has mandatory ramp entrance at the main gate with barrier free environment and has a wheelchair track that runs across the park. The park has hygiene, safety, especially designed equipment and first class services for the special needs with various therapy blocks and beautiful amphi theatre which accommodates 300 people.

SERVICES PROVIDED AT THE PARK
Therapy
Therapy services are provided to all the special needs children between the age group 2-15 years with free consultation. Many children have been benefitted from these therapies who had different problems like cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, muscular weakness, Autism, ADHD, ADD and also children with multiple disabilities.

National Park for People with Special Needs also gives coaching to special needs children to appear for SSC-TOSS exams,
27 special needs students have enrolled for SSC-TOSS exams for the academic
year 2018-19 from National park for people with special needs.
Sports Training and Selections
AES also conducts sports coaching for these special needs children in the park for various games like bocci, shotput, floorball, floor hockey and handball. The coaching classes help these children participate in games conducted by Special Olympics Bharat.

Turkish Consul General, Mr. Adnan Altary Altinors visited the park and interacted with the special children and their parents. He appreciated the work done at the park and encouraged the children to do their best.

Mr. Shivajee Kumar, Bihar State Commissioner for Disabled visited the park to have a look at our services for special needs children as Telangana State was awarded the best state award in serving the special needs people. He has shown great interest in the work done at the park.

Team from US Consulate hosted iftar party for few special children at the park last Ramadan. They also interacted with the children.
